John Anthony Griscavage
MOUNT WOLF - John Anthony Griscavage, 79, of Mount Wolf, PA, formerly of Kulpmont, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Wellspan York Hospital, York, PA surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Susan Dale Griscavage whom he married 55 years ago on May 18, 1970.
John was born on August 17, 1946, at home in Kulpmont, PA and was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Bondy) Griscavage.
He graduated in 1964 from Kulpmont High School in Kulpmont, PA and later he graduated from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. Following his employment as a case manager for Northumberland County Government he enjoyed nearly 30 years of retirement. He was the President and board member of Kulpmont United Methodist Church where he was a former member. He was the Vice President of Kulpmont Football and Baseball Association. “Pop” loved outings with his wife, kids and grandkids, vacations, and road trips. He and “Nanny” enjoyed going for coffee and taking “Gingie” dog to the park. There are many fond memories of time spent with nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing pool where he was a member of various teams, gardening, playing the guitar, and metal detecting. John was a lover of all animals, especially his dog, Precious and his cat Ruby.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, John A. Griscavage and his wife Marissa of Manchester, PA, Julie Darrup of Manchester, PA, his former son-in-law, Joseph Darrup of Kulpmont, and Elizabeth McEwan and her husband Alexandar of Sinking Spring, PA; 10 grandchildren, Tony and his wife, Ashley, Luke, Samantha, Billy, Ian, Danielle, Lincoln, Grayson, Henry, and Kaitlyn “Pickle”, and 2 great grandchildren, Dimitri, and Takoda. John was preceded in death by his brother, George Griscavage, and his sisters, Jean Barnes, and Barbara Erdman.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
