Kathryn Mae Miller

YORK – Kathryn Mae (Slonaker) Miller, 88, of York, formerly of (Saginaw) Mount Wolf, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2023.  She was the wife of Donald K. Miller to whom she was married for 55 years.

Mrs. Miller was born June 6, 1935, in York and was the daughter of the late Luther and Clara (Martin) Slonaker.

She graduated in 1953, from Dover High School in Dover, PA.  She was employed by Dentsply Company for 15 years, Northeastern High School for 15 years, and Naylor Candy Company in Mount Wolf.  She loved to travel and saw Alaska, most of Canada, Panama Canal, and all of the United States.  She enjoyed hobbies, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch and working puzzles.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Wolf.  Mrs. Miller also volunteered with the Northeastern Food Pantry and Northeastern Clothing Bank.

In addition to her husband, Donald, Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughters, Melissa Kistler and her husband Douglas of Pittsburgh, and Angela Gantar and her husband Jeffrey of Vancouver, WA; five grandchildren, Emily Kistler, Morgan Kistler, Alec Gantar, Max Gantar, Luke Gantar; her sisters, Nancy Wilt, Ann Lauchman, and Gail Wentz, and her brother, Richard Slonaker of York.  Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Adams and her brothers, Robert Slonaker and Donald Slonaker.

A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home, 750 Kelly Drive, York, PA.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home.  Officiating at her service will be Chaplain Aaron Cope from SpiriTrust Lutheran.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
