Kenneth E. Kann

YORK – Kenneth E. Kann, 86, of York, formerly of York Haven, passed away, Friday, July 14, 2023, at Amoroso Personal Care Home in York.  He was the husband of Janet (Ort) (Mills) Kann and the late Ruth A. (Heilman) Kann who passed away, February 9, 1998.

Mr. Kann was born August 11, 1936, in York and was the son of the late Raymond and Erma (Fetrow) Kann.

He graduated in 1955 from Central High School in North York.  He was a lifelong farmer and plumber and was a member for 64 years of the local 520 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union.  He was employed by C. J. Beshore and McClure Company.  He was a member of the Northeastern School Board for over 20 years where he served as treasurer and Representative to York County Vo-Tech School.  He was also a lifelong member of Mount Washington Church in Zions View.

Mr. Kann is survived by his sons, Ricky Kann and his wife Ellen of York Haven, Steve Kann of Tioga County, and Scott Kann and his wife Amanda of Stone Ridge, VA; five stepchildren, two grandchildren, Ries and Tyler; step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces; his brothers, John Kann, Curt Kann and Joe Kann, all of York, and his sister, Lois Conway of Fayetteville, PA.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Donald, David and his daughter-in-law, Linda Kann.

His funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. His visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the funeral home.  His burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens in Dover.  Officiating at his service Alan Harbold.
