Larry Eugene Clemens

Emigsville – Larry “Stu” Eugene Clemens, 86, of Emigsville, passed away at 7:35 PM, Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.  He was the husband of Myrna Maxine (Repman) Clemens who he married 66 years ago on December 18, 1954.

Larry was born October 20, 1934, in West York and was the son of the late, Henry W. Clemens, Sr. and Alda (Welty) Clemens.

He graduated in 1952, from Manchester High School in Manchester, PA.  He retired as a sales manager for Tri-Boro Concrete in Dallastown and previously was employed by Groff  Tractor Equipment and DriveKore both in Mechanicsburg.   Larry was a member of the Susquehanna Fire Company in York Haven for over 68 years where he volunteered starting at the age of 16.  He was passionate about cars and loved spending time with his family.  He was a member of the Church of Open Door in York.

When Larry was 12 he married Myrna Maxine Repman at the age of 10 in a Tom Thumb wedding.  It was part of a children’s program for Children’s Day and they were randomly picked by the women of the church.  Little did they know at the time that eight years later they would be married for real.  They were happily married for 66 years.

In addition to his wife, Myrna, Larry is survived by his son, Lorne Clemens and his wife Lisa of York, John Clemens and his wife Sherry of Honey Brook and Matthew Clemens and his wife Christine of York; his daughter, Melissa Ensminger and her husband Tom of Red Lion; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and his sister, Shirley Hoover of York Haven.  Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, Richard, Garland, Gerald and Dean and his sister Rena Ruth.

Services for Larry will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 16, 2021, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.   Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.  Officiating at the service will be Pastor Don Wagner.
