Raymond T. Gingerich

MOUNT WOLF – Raymond T. Gingerich, 95, of Mount Wolf, passed away, Friday, April 29, 2022, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. He was the husband of the late Betty R. (Taylor) Gingerich whom he was married to for 63 years and later passed away July 1, 2009.  He was the companion for 10 years to the late Mary Patterson.

Mr. Gingerich was born February 17, 1927, in East Manchester Township, York County and was the son of the late George and Bertha (Hoover) Gingerich.

He was electrician for over 35 years before retiring in 1989 and worked out of the IBEW#229 union hall and was employed with IB Able in York. He was a member of the 7 Mountain Blue Grass Association, Northeastern Senior Center of Mount Wolf and Starview United Church of Christ in Mount Wolf.  Mr. Gingerich enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, traveling 49 of the 50 states, going to the mountains and the beach, loved Blue Grass music, had a passion for playing cards and eating Ice Cream, especially chocolate.

Mr. Gingerich is survived by his son, Terry Gingerich and his wife Sandra of Mount Wolf; his daughter, Chris Fregm, and her husband Michael of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Neil and his wife Tammy, Andrea, Heather, Amanda, and Dustin and his wife Rande, and five great grandchildren, Caidence, Adalea, Aidan, Dylan and Elijah. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Gingerich and Carl Gingerich and his sister, Mae Benedick.

His funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Starview United Church of Christ, 4832 North Sherman Street, Ext., Mount Wolf, PA. His viewings will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church.  Burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery in Manchester. Officiating at the service will be his pastor Reverend Laura Bair-Baker.
