Louanna Bare

YORK – Louanna (Kann) Bare, 88 of York, passed away, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Autumn House East in York.  She was the wife of the late Larry J. Bare who passed away on September 15, 2017.

Louanna was born February 19, 1937, in York, PA and was the daughter of the late William and Elouise (Sowers) Kann.

She graduated in 1956 from Manchester Senior High School in Manchester, PA.  She also attended Penn State University.  She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester, PA.  Louanna was very active not only in church but the Susquehanna Lioness Club and was active as a board member, lifetime member of Beacon Lodge, and Chesapeake Women’s Club. Family and service to others were very important to her.  She enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time with family.

Louanna is survived by her daughter, LeAnn B. Plank of Lewes, DE, her son, Mark W. Bare of York, PA, and her grandson, Jacob W. Bare.  She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Plank

Her funeral service and burial will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
