Madelyn V. Pfalzgraf
YORK – Madelyn “Maggie” V. (Kohr) Pfalzgraf, 97, of York, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at the home of her son, Karl, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was the wife of the late Harold G. Pfalzgraf who passed away, August 1, 2004.
Maggie had a wonderful life filled with good times and good friends. She was kind and caring, and grateful for all the blessings God had given her. Her boundless energy, wit, and positive spirit made her a joy to be with. She was a gifted seamstress; many a bride and pageant contestant will forever remember how she fixed their gowns and saved their big day. Maggie will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Maggie was born June 5, 1925, in East Manchester Township, York County, PA and was the daughter of the late Christopher and Violet (Knaub) Kohr.
She graduated in 1943, from Manchester High School in Manchester, PA. She worked for the Hardinge Company, Naval Ordnance Plant, and York Safe and Lock, all located in York. Maggie was a lifetime member of the Community United Methodist Church in Saginaw and founding “Admiral” of the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club.
Maggie is survived by her son, Karl Pfalzgraf of Myrtle Beach, SC; her granddaughter, Carolyn Pfalzgraf and her husband, Mike Worth of Peterborough, England; her grandson, Eric Pfalzgraf, and his wife, Emily of Northampton, MA; her brother, Ray Kohr and his wife, Joyce of Dover, and her brother-in-law Charles Murphy of Dover. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Gladfelter, Ruth Elvey, Isabelle Murphy, and Gertrude Anderson, and her brother, Edwin Kohr.
Her memorial service will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saginaw Cemetery in Saginaw, East Manchester Township. Officiating at the service will be her pastor Reverend Chuck Sprenkle.
Maggie requests that no flowers be sent. Contributions in her memory will be gratefully accepted by the Community United Methodist Church, 860 Market Street, Mount Wolf, PA 17347.
