Margaret M. Fatherree

YORK – Margaret “Peggy” M. (Blauser) Wales Fatherree, 97, of York, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Autum House West, York, PA.  She was the wife of the late Gladston H. Wales who passed away on August 19, 1979, and Leroy “Bud” S. Fatherree who passed on May 6, 2008.

Peggy was born July 19,1927 in Dauphin County and was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Yeingst) Blauser.

She graduated in 1945 from William Penn High School in York, PA.  She was employed as a sales associate for Bon Ton Department Stores.  She was a member of Various Dance Clubs in the York Area, West Shore Elks, Shiloh American Legion, the former Dutch Club, and the Organ Club of York.  She was a former Den Mother for Cub Pack # 62 of Pleasureville, PA.  She was former member of the Pleasureville Christian Church in York.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Thomas A. Wales and his wife Susan of Dover, PA, and David A. Wales and his wife Penny of York; four grandchildren, Thomas Wales, Jr. (Diane), Gregory Wales (Patricia), Stephen Wales (Caitlyn), Michelle Betancourt (Daniel); step-granddaughter, Aimee Jungclaus; five great grandchildren, Tyler Wales, Kendall Wales, Zoe Wales, Sophia Wales, and Jackson Betancourt; three nephews, Michael Wolfrom, Craig Wolfrom, and Brian Wolfrom; step-great granddaughter, Isabel Jungclaus, and her sister, Nancy Wolfrom of Hellam.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 25, 2024. at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA.  Her visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday at the funeral home.  Her burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Officiating at her service will be Reverend Joel Folkemer from Union Lutheran Church.
