Maxine K. Sunday
YORK – Maxine K. (Knaub) Sunday, 91, of York, formerly of Mount Wolf, passed away, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at her home in York. She was the wife of the late Reverend Charles E. Sunday who passed away on July 21, 2000.
Mrs. Sunday was born January 16, 1931, in Mount Wolf and was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Marie (Brenneman) Knaub.
She graduated in 1949 from Manchester High School. She was employed as an executive secretary with New York Wire Cloth in Mount Wolf, Cole Steel in York, and Fogelsanger Insurance Company in Shippensburg, PA. Mrs. Sunday was faithful to her husband’s service as a pastor by supporting him with his ministry for 37 years. She was a member of Franklintown United Brethren Church in Franklintown, PA.
Mrs. Sunday is survived by her daughter, Paula R. March and her husband Randy of York; three grandchildren, Zachary March, Joshua March and Lauren Wiersma and her husband Ryan; one great granddaughter, Maeve March and her sister, Lois Knold of Dover. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Coldren and her brother, Lorne Knaub.
Her visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Mount Washington United Brethren Church, 690 Copenhaffer Road, York, PA. The service will begin at 10:30 AM, Thursday at the church. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Paul Dunbar. Burial will be in Quickels Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
