MOUNT WOLF – Michael J. Abbott, 57, of Mount Wolf, passed away, Thursday, May 12, 2022, at his home in Mount Wolf. He was the companion to Pamela Kornbau of Mount Wolf.

Michael was born April 8, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland and was the son of the late William and Geraldine (Brashears) Abbott.

He was employed by P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania Steel Company in York and worked in the kitchen at Shiloh American Legion Post #791 in York. Michael was an avid sports fan and rooted for the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens and enjoyed watching WWE. He was a big Elvis Presley fan and loved his music.

Michael is survived by his sons, Joshua Abbott and Kyle Abbott both of York; his brother, David Manning of Shacklefords, VA and his sisters, Linda Manning of Dover, PA, Kim Link of O’Fallon, IL and Denise Melhorn of York, and his favorite cat, Maggie Mae.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Marie Abbott.

A celebration of life service for Michael will begin at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be private.  Officiating at his service will be Reverend Chuck Sprenkle.
