LEWISBERRY – Michael John Bennett, 78 of Lewisberry, passed away, Monday, July 13, 2026, at Spring Creek Rehabilitation Center in Harrisburg, PA.  He was the husband of Sandra Kay (Shreve) Bennett whom he married 53 years ago on November 17, 1972.

Michael was born on December 16, 1947, in West Point, Mississippi and was the son of the late James and Irene (Preston) Bennett.

He was employed by Motor Technology for 17 years before retiring.   Previously he made a career serving in the United States Air Force from which he retired.  He was a member of the James E. Danner V.F.W. Post #537 in Etters.  He enjoyed NASCAR and his three cats, Tiny, Jade, and Izzy even though they drove him crazy.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his daughter, Dara Reader of York Haven, PA; his step-grandsons, Shawn Lotter of MD and Shane Lotter of Fla, five grandchildren, his brother, Gregory Bennett of West Point, MS and his sister, Carol Ann Bennett of VA. 

A Celebration of Life service will be private for Michael.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
