Michael Douglas Patton

Michael D. Patton, 70, of York, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 7, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the husband of Melody A. (Iceman) Patton, with whom he had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Mike is the best man that Melody has ever known and she will love and cherish him forever.

Mike was born June 27, 1954, in Harrisburg, PA, and was the son of the late Donald and Margaret (Culver) Patton.

He graduated from York Suburban High School in York, PA, in 1972. He later went on to receive his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from York College. Mike started his career in 1984 working at RCA which later became Bosch Security Systems in Lancaster, PA. He worked at Bosch Security Systems for 32 years, retiring in 2016 as a Strategic Technical Buyer. Prior to his career at Bosch Security Systems, he worked at YESCO, Galt Controls, and ISSC. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Mike was a part of White Rose Pickleball, Springettsbury Township Pickleball, New Fairview Church Pickleball, Susquehanna Ski Club, Planet Fitness, and the Email Bikers organization. He enjoyed pickleball, skiing, biking, traveling, computer technology, and was a Retro York fan.

Mike was known among friends and family for always being willing to lend a hand with everything from random projects to computer issues and everything in between, no matter the difficulty or time involved.

In addition to his wife, Melody, Mike is survived by his sister, Susan Patton of York, PA, his sister-in-law, Allison Smith-Shaffer (David) of Mount Wolf, PA, his brother-in-law, Scott Iceman (Dawn) of York, PA, his niece Jennifer Ehteshami (Dominic) of York, PA; as well as additional extended family.

In keeping with Mike's selfless and generous spirit, it was his wish to be a Gift of Life donor.

A Celebration of Life ceremony for Mike will be held at a later time.
