Mildred E. King

YORK - Mildred E. King, 78, entered into rest on Monday, August 29, 2022, at The Gardens at Gettysburg.  She was the loving wife of Walter D. "Dean" King.  The couple celebrated 25 years of marriage on October 26, 2021.

Born March 25, 1944, in Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Fisher) Gross.

Mildred graduated from Northeastern High School.  She retired in 2009 from York Hospital where she worked as a coder.  Mildred was a member of Cassel's C&MA Church in Manchester.  She enjoyed bowling.

In addition to her husband, Mildred is survived by two sons, David Smith of York and Mark Smith and wife, Melissa, of Red Lion; a daughter, Terri Beaverson and husband, Jeff, of Dover; seven grandchildren, Beck, Brandon, Dustin, Charla, Briana, Jake and Ryan; and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Emma and her sister, Del Perfetti.

Mildred's funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Officiating at her service will be Pastor Lee Manuel.
