Nancy A. Rutters

YORK – Nancy A. (Leader) (Heilman) Rutters, 84, of York, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Country Meadows of York.  She was the wife of Donald Rutters of York.

Nancy was born May 28, 1938, in East Manchester Township and was the daughter of the late John Leader and Margaret (Brenner) (Leader) Doll and raised by Margaret and Gordon Doll.

She was employed by York Container Corporation for 22 years before retiring in 2000.  She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Starview, East Manchester Township.  Following her retirement, Nancy taught herself to play the piano, learned sign language, and enjoyed traveling with her husband Donald.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Heilman of Mount Wolf and Bradley Heilman, and his wife, Yvonne of Dover; her stepdaughter, Lisa Festerman of New Oxford, PA; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; her sister, Susan Ferree of Mount Wolf, and her sister-in-law, Elaine Doll of York.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Sweitzer; her twin brothers, Ronald Doll and Donald Doll; her stepson, Dale Rutters, and her daughter-in-law, Susan Heilman.

Services and burial for Nancy will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
