ETTERS – Nancy (Witmer) Shearer, 81, of Etters, took the hand of her Lord and Savior, when she heard him call at 1:50 PM, Sunday, March 6, 2022, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dallastown.  She was the wife of Ralph E. Shearer to whom she was married for 61 years.

Nancy was born December 10, 1940, in York Hospital and was the daughter of the late Harvey “Pud” and Ruth (Brothers) Witmer.

She was a graduate of Northeastern High School class of 1960.  She was a homemaker taking care of the children in the most loving and beautiful manner.  She also worked at Bernhaven sewing factory in Mount Wolf and Danskin in York.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by two daughters, Wanda Pitt of Lancaster and Carole Shaffer and her husband Jack of Mount Wolf; two son, Mark Shearer and his wife Robin of York and Craig Shearer and his wife Elizabeth of Mechanicsburg; 6 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; two great grandchildren and 10 great step grandchildren and her sister, Joyce Brodbeck of York.  She was preceded in death by her son, Ralph E. Shearer, Jr.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2022, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery in Etters.  Officiating at her service will be Reverend James Winter.
