MANCHESTER – Nelson J. Bradford, 75, of Manchester, passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. He was the husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Fisher) Bradford whom he married 56 Years ago on June 12, 1966.

Nelson was born May 6, 1947, in Lewistown, PA, and was the son of the late John and Madalynn (Shawver) Bradford.

He graduated in 1965 from Lewistown Granville High School in Lewistown. He was employed for over 20 years with Case New Holland before retiring in 2017 and for much of his life a Dairy Farmer. He was a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, a Youth leader with Ellen Chapel in Lewistown, Pennsylvania Grange, 4-H Leader, various Agricultural committees, United Methodist Men’s Club, and Otterbein United Methodist Church in Mount Wolf.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, Nelson was survived by his son, Shannon Bradford and his wife Breanna of Cocoa, FL; his daughters, Elissa Messinger and her husband Dustin of Dover, PA,  Janel Flanagan and her husband, Nathan of Malvern, PA; five grandchildren, Ryley, Mason, Cameron, Ethan, Madalynn and Alisha; his brother, Marlin Bradford of Danville, PA and his sister, Helen Aurand of Bellville, KS.  Nelson was preceded in death by a grandson, Sirandon and his sister, Sara.

A celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Granville United Methodist Church, 1346 North River Road, Granville, PA.  Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be private. Officiating at his service will be Reverend Rick Bender. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
