Gary A. Zortman
DOVER – Pastor Gary A. Zortman, 78, of Dover, passed away, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home in Dover, PA. He was the husband of Nancy (Lease) Zortman whom he married 58 years ago on August 21, 1965.
Pastor Gary was born January 20, 1946, in York and was the son of the late Allen and Beatrice (Heiner) Zortman.
He graduated in 1963 from Central High School in North York. He was employed in Sales in various trucking companies. Following his retirement, he served as the pastor of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in York Haven. He was a member of Otterbein Church-Mount Wolf, Masonic Lodge of Hanover, past President of the Traffic Club, and a former member of the North York Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, Pastor Gary is survived by his sons, Brian Zortman and his wife, Tammy of Manchester, Gregory Zortman and his wife Sharon of York, and Mark Zortman and his wife Rhonda of Dover; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and his brother, Allen Zortman of Red Lion, PA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra McAdams.
A celebration of Pastor Gary’s life will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Otterbein Church-Mount Wolf 131 Center Street, Mount Wolf. His visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. His burial will be private. Officiating at his service will be Pastor Albert Horst, Pastor Catherine Boileau, and his son, Pastor Mark Zortman.
