Paul H. Baum
YORK – Paul H. Baum, 92, of York, passed away, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Country Meadows in York. He was the husband of the late Anne (Thompson) Baum who passed away on February 25, 2023. They were happily married for 64 years.
Mr. Baum was born July 5, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio and was the son of the late Harold and Margaret (Gleichman) Baum.
He graduated from Grantsville High School in Grantsville, Maryland. Paul served in the Army during the Korean War. He served from October 1951 to October 1953. He spent time in 1952 in Korea. He graduated in 1959 from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania before retiring in 1995. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered with the Building and Grounds Committee.
Mr. Baum is survived by his son, Eric Baum and his wife Kathy of Palmyra, PA; his daughter, Lynne McGinnis and her husband Timothy of Dover, PA; four grandchildren; Meghan, Tyler, Christien, and Jordan, and his sister, Carolyn Railey of Surprise, AZ.
His memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 7, 2023, in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church of York, 225 East Market Street, York, PA. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:30 AM, Friday in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church of York. Officiating at the service will be his pastor, Reverend C. Kyle Gott. Interment will be in the Memorial gardens of First Presbyterian Church of York. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
