HANOVER – Phyllis J. (Kochenour) Kohr, 97, of Hanover, formerly of Manchester, passed away, Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford.  She was the wife of the late Paul L. Kohr who passed away on June 9, 2007.

Mrs. Kohr was born May 24, 1926, in York and was the daughter of the late Edwin and Madeline (Mundis) Kochenour.

She graduated in 1944 from Manchester High School in Manchester, PA.  She was employed by Bear’s Department Store and as a secretary for General Electric, both in York.  She was a former member of Advent Lutheran Church in York.

Mrs. Kohr is survived by her daughter, Paula Gross, and her husband Glenn of Hanover; two grandchildren, Carmen Garrison and her husband Michael and Frank Gross, and her four great grandchildren, Aven Garrison and Torin Garrison and Addison Gross and Owen Gross.   She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Pugh, Betty Clemens Searce, and Audrey Druck and her brothers, William Kochenour, and Robert Kochenour.

Her funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM, Friday, November 24, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Her visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.  Her burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York.  Officiating at the service will be Reverend Lisa Hair from St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church in York New Salem, PA.
