Ramona R. (Connelly) Krout

YORK HAVEN – Ramona R. (Connelly) Krout, 91, of York Haven, PA, died Friday, October 17, 2025, at Wellspan York Hospital in York, PA.  She was the wife of the late Thomas E. Krout for 65 years before his passing on October 25, 2018.

Ramona was born August 9, 1934, in Emigsville, PA and was the daughter of the late Hulme R. Connelly and Eva Mary (Deaner) Connelly.

She graduated in 1950 at the age of 15 from North York Senior High School in North York, PA.   Following graduation from high school she went to work for Farquhar’s in York.  She worked there until she married Tom in 1953.  From there she worked at International Paper Company in York Haven, York Haven State Bank and James Craft and Son from which she retired in 1998 after 27 years of service.  She also was the co-owner of Hilda's Furniture in Emigsville, PA from 2000 to 2010. She was a member of the Susquehanna Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in York Haven, Secretary and Treasurer of the York Haven Library since 1993, member of the York Haven Borough Council, card clubs, West Manchester Mall Walkers and volunteered with Meals on Wheels

Ramona is survived by her son, Jeffrey Krout and his wife Connie of York Haven, daughters, Cynthia Owad and her husband John of Mount Wolf, PA and Andrea Loughlin and her husband Brian of Loganville, PA; eight grandchildren, Jarrod Krout, Tom (Emily) Owad, Margaret (Jason) Staub, Allison (Ryan) Bray, Nicholas (Liana) Owad, Ian Loughlin, Colin Loughlin, and Caroline Loughlin; five great grandchildren, Patrick, Finn, Connelly, Maeve Staub and Cora Owad.  She was preceded in death by her grandson, Conner Loughlin, and her siblings, Virginia Knezic, Jack Connelly, Dorothy King, and John Connelly.

Her graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Holy Saviour Cemetery in York, PA.  Officiating at her graveside service will be Father Dominic Eshikena from Holy Infant Catholic Church in Manchester, PA.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
