Richard “Ben” Peters
MANCHESTER – Richard “Ben” Peters, 78, of Manchester, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Loralee R. (Neff) Peters whom he married 48 years ago on August 8, 1975.
Ben was born November 20, 1945, in Harrisburg, PA and was the son of the late Eugene and Miriam (Leinaweaver) Peters.
He graduated in 1963 from Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill, PA. He was employed most of his life in the construction trade. He was a member of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf and a former member of the Mechanicsburg Men’s Club in Mechanicsburg, PA. Ben proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. He received the rank of Specialist Fifth Class and worked as a Helicopter Repairman.
In addition to his wife, Loralee, Ben is survived by his son, David Peters of Wilmington, NC; his brother, David Peters and his wife, Suzi of New Castle, IN, and his nephew, Jon Peters.
Services and burial for Ben will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
