Richard W. Yeager

YORK – Richard W. Yeager, 88, of York, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at York Hospital.  He was the husband of Doris (Doll) Yeager.

Richard was born August 8, 1932, in Chambersburg, PA and was the son of the late Robert Yeager, Sr. and Marion (Ryder) Yeager.

He started his first job in 1950 with the Weaver Piano Company and eventually moved to the Naval Ordnance Plant.  After serving 4 years in the United States Air Force where he instructed airborne radar in the states and many NATO Countries he returned to York in 1956.  He worked for the Bendix Electronics Corporation and later retired in 1997 as a Maintenance Supervisor from the former P.A. & S. Small Co,  also known as Flemming Foods and Scrivner in York.  He was a member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post #799 and the York Rifle Club.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his son, Kevin Yeager and his wife Janice of York; his step-sons, Jeff Arnold of Yorkanna and Tony Arnold of Jefferson; his daughters, Lynne DeCriscio and her husband John of York, Karen Sessa and her husband Fred of York and Nancy Yeager and her husband Peter of Belair, MD; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.  Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Yeager, Jr. and his sisters, Doris Knaub and Aletta Raffensberger.

Services and burial for Richard will be private.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
