Robert S. Haner

DOVER – Robert S. Haner, 78, of Dover, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, at York Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (McConnell) Haner who passed away April 5, 2016.

Robert was born January 13, 1943, in New Kensington, PA and was the son of the late Robert and Pauline (Altland) Haner. 

He graduated from Northeastern High School in Manchester, PA.  He retired from Precision Components in York.   Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.  He was an avid bowler, enjoyed car shows especially muscle cars and loved his family, grandchildren and great grandson.    He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Manchester Township, York. 

Robert is survived by his daughter, Amy Austin and her husband Tim of Spring Grove, PA., his son, Jason Haner of Dover; his grandchildren, Brandon Haner, Sr., Genevieve Austin and Madalyn Austin; his great grandson, Brandon Haner, Jr. and his faithful companion Jack.

His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 16, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Road, York, PA.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the church.  Burial will be in St. Paul Wolf’s Cemetery.  Officiating at his service will be his pastors, Reverend Paul Gausmann and Reverend Sally Gausmann.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.   Military honors at the graveside service will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
