Romaine Marie Miller

Mount Wolf (Saginaw) – Romaine Marie (Emig) Miller, 90, of Saginaw, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026, at Wellspan York Hospital.  She was the wife of the late John H. Miller, Jr.

Romaine was born July 15, 1935, in York, PA, and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Spangler) Emig.

She retired as a seamstress at Bern Haven Sewing Factory in Mount Wolf, PA. She loved flowers, gardening, and babysitting her grandchildren. Romaine dedicated her life to helping those around her; she was a lifetime member of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf and Saginaw Community Church in (Saginaw), Mount Wolf, PA, where she was very active within the church. 

Romaine was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was cherished by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her daughter, Lorie Whitehead and her husband Gary, of York Haven, PA; her son, John H. Miller, III and his wife Margaret, of Mount Wolf, PA; three grandchildren, Adam Whitehead and his wife Casey, Nicole Fenton and her husband Adrian, and David Miller; her three great grandchildren, Adrian Fenton, Mark Whitehead, and Wes Whitehead; and her brother, Raymond Emig, Jr. and his wife Carol of York.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Reynold Emig and Roger Emig.

Romaine's funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Saginaw Community Church (Saginaw) Mount Wolf, PA. A viewing will be held prior to her funeral services at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Romaine will be laid to rest in New Holland (Saginaw) Cemetery following her service. Officiating at her service will be Reverend Dr. Eddie D. D. Miller.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
