YORK – Ronald “Ron” E. Griffin, 88, of York, passed away, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at York Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Lucy J. (Senft) Griffin who passed away May 26, 2018.

Ron was born on February 6, 1937, in York and was the son of the late Marian (Diehl) Myers and Charles Myers and Glenn Griffin and Ocie Griffin

He graduated in 1956 from Manchester Senior High School in Manchester, PA.  He was a lifetime member of the Hawks Club in York, PA, and the Vikings Club in West York.  He was employed at Caterpillar for 30 years. Ron enjoyed watching baseball and football, and was a huge fan of the Phillies, Orioles and Eagles.  His love for sports also led him to coaching softball in the local area.

He had a deep love for his family and friends and enjoyed spending time together. Ron is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Arnold of York, PA and Pamela Kinard and her husband Mark of York, PA; four grandchildren, Kayla, Ben, Ryan, Katie; four great grandchildren, Deekyn, Slate, Reagan, and Kristopher, and his sister, Debra Shaffer.  Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Barry Griffin and Chuck Myers.

His service will begin at 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA.  His viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  His burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery.  Officiating at his service will be Reverend Jay McWilliams.
