Russell E. Grim

DOVER – Russell E. “Grimmy” Grim, 97, of Dover, formerly of Mount Wolf, passed away, Monday, February 20, 2023, at Providence Place in Dover, PA.  He was the husband of the late Annabelle (Fry) Grim who he was married to for 73 years.

Russell was born August 22, 1925, in Strinestown and was the son of the late Paul Shetter and Bertha Grim.

He worked for New York Wire Cloth, Superior Box Factory, St. Regis and Georgia Pacific all in Mount Wolf.  He was a member of Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf and the Moose Lodge of York and a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Wolf.  Russell proudly served his country in the United States Army and served during WW II.  Russell was wounded in action while serving in the United States Army and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.

Russell is survived by his daughters, Linda Grim of Newark, DE and Brenda Heckener and her husband Jerry of Dover; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

His funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 9:00 10:00 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York.  Officiating at the service will be Reverend James E. Winter, Sr.  York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside.
