Ruth A. Almoney

MOUNT WOLF – Ruth A. (Treaster) Almoney, 85, of (Saginaw) Mount Wolf, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at her home.  She was the wife of Glenn E. Almoney who she married 67 years ago on May 21, 1955.

Mrs. Almoney was born August 18, 1936, in Lewistown and was the daughter of the late Earl and Margaret (Comber) Treaster.

She graduated in 1954 from Lewistown High School in Lewistown, PA.  She was employed by Graybill’s in York and was a receptionist for the family practice of Dr. Dean Hoover and Dr. Barry Bevin in York.  She was a member of the Church of The Open Door in York and active as a Children’s Sunday School teacher and in the Pioneer Girls Ministry. She also participated in the JAARs Mission Trips to North Carolina and the LEGS ministry.

In addition to her husband, Glenn, Mrs. Almoney is survived by her daughter, Brenda M. Rauch and her husband, James Rauch, Jr., of Mount Wolf; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Rauch and his wife Rebekah, Rebecca McCaa and her husband Steven, and Rachel Aument and her husband Joshua, as well as six, great grandchildren, Reagan & Samantha Rauch, Sawyer, Callan, & Adah McCaa, and Jacob Aument, her sister, Norma Bishop and her husband Ivan of McClure, PA, and her brothers, William Treaster and his wife Sandra of McAllisterville, PA, and Ronald Treaster and his wife Sue of Eustis, FL.  Mrs. Almoney was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Sue Almoney.

Mrs. Almoney’s service will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 12, 2022, at Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York, PA.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday at the church.  Officiating at the service will be Pastor Donald Wagner.  Burial will be in Shiloh Lutheran Cemetery in Shiloh.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
