Scott E. Shindler
YORK – Scott E. Shindler, 64, of York, passed away, Monday, December 09, 2024, at Hospice and Community Care. He was the longtime friend and confidant of Terri. Simonds.
Scott was born December 21, 1959, in York and was the son of James W. Shindler and the late Lorraine M. (Strine) Shindler.
He graduated in 1977 from West York Senior High School in West York, PA. He was employed as a truck driver for the York Ice Company and later Green’s Dairy which was sold to Kemps. Scott had a passion for his outdoor sports and was an accomplished hunter, fisherman and trapper. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and in particular his great tomatoes became his keen interest in the last few years.
In addition to his father, Scott is survived by his brother, Craig A. Shindler and his wife Marcia of Dover, PA and his sister, Wendy L. Prytherch and her husband Greg of Ooltewah, TN; his nieces, Ashley Allen, Jaclyn Long, Meredith Meckley, and his nephews, Brandon Evans and Caleb Prytherch.
A graveside service for Scott will begin at 1:30 PM, Friday, December 13, 2024, in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Those planning on attending Scott’s graveside service should meet at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance of the cemetery no later than 1:20 PM. Officiating at his service will be his brother-in-law, Pastor Greg Prytherch. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
