YORK – Shirley E. (Paules) Kinard, 77 of York, passed away, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York.

Shirley was born August 3, 1948, in York, PA and was the daughter of the late Marlyn and Charlene (Miller) Paules.

She graduated in 1966 from Northeastern Senior High School in Manchester, PA.  She was employed by Pfaltzgraff for 15 years, and Wellspan York Hospital for 16 years before retiring in 2011.  Most recently she was employed as a Home Health Care Aid.  She was a member of Genesis Church in York New Salem, PA.  She volunteered at the York Rescue Mission, Area Office on Aging and was a Tutor for the York Council of Literacy.  She enjoys reading, music, puzzles, cooking, baking and most importantly spending time with her grandsons

Shirley is survived by her son, Chad Kinard and his wife Donna of Dover, PA; three grandsons, Cameron, Cory, and Carter; her niece, Katlynn Lau; and her sister, Tina Paules of York.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Paules.

The service and burial for Shirley will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
