Steve Cothran Obituary

THOMASVILLE - Steve D. Cothran, 64, of Thomasville, passed into the presence of His Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, February 18, 2017 at the home of his son in Dover. He was the husband of Audra (Witmer) Cothran whom he married 40 years ago on May 15, 1976. Steve was born, September 2, 1952 in Jonesboro, GA and was the son of the late John and Hazel (Pelfrey) Cothran. He graduated from M.D. Collins High School in Union City, GA. He was employed by the former FCI Electronics in Emigsville. He was a member of the West York V.F.W. Post 8951 and he attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dover. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and the Middle East War. In addition to his wife, Audra, Steve is survived by his son John Cothran and his wife Tina of Dover; his daughter, Marie Cothran of Thomasville; 2 grandchildren, Caleb and Alaina; his brother, Robert Cothran of GA, and his two sisters, Lynn Sensing and her husband Bobby of GA and Rosa Peppers and her husband Ronald of GA. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00 PM, Monday, February 27, 2017 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery in Annville, PA. Officiating at the service will be The Pastor Sterling Walsh from Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dover. Military honors will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard beginning at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
