THOMASVILLE – Terry A. Funke, 69, of Thomasville, passed away, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at his home in Thomasville.  He was the husband of Darlene F. (Wagner) Funke who he married 28 years ago on October 27, 1995.

Terry was born, July 12, 1954, in York and was the son of the late Stuart and Margaret (Wunsch) Funke.

He retired from the City of York after 26 years of service and retired from Winter Gardens in New Oxford and had previously worked for Stewart and Tate in York.  Presently he was employed by the East Berlin V.F.W. Post 8896.

In addition to his wife, Darlene, Terry was survived by his daughter, Amanda Funke of York; his stepdaughter, Michelle Swemley of New Oxford; his stepsons, Craig Paulus of East Berlin, and Butch Paulus of Hanover; one granddaughter, four step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; his brother, Michael Funke of Manchester, and his sisters, Sandra Foust of Newville, and Bonnie Gordon of Etters.  Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Stuart Funke and his sister, Ginger Huffnagle.

His funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  His viewing will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.  His burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.  Officiating at his service will be Reverend James Winter, Sr.
