Thelma E. Fetrow
YORK – Thelma E. (Hoke) Fetrow, 98, of Erie, formerly of Newberry, passed away peacefully at Manchester Commons in Erie, PA. She was the wife of the late John G. Fetrow, Jr., to whom she was married for 74 years before his passing on April 24, 2021.
Mrs. Fetrow was born November 9, 1924, in East Manchester Township, PA and was the daughter of the late Millard and Myra (Raffensperger) Hoke.
She graduated from New Cumberland High School and served as an Administrative Assistant with the former Amon R. Smith Chevrolet in York, the former Swetizer Fuel and PADE. She and her husband loved to travel and were lucky enough to see Alaska, Europe, and many places within the United States. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and working in her gardens. She was an active life-long member of the Mount Wolf VFW Axillary.
Mrs. Fetrow is survived by her daughter, Sharon Burke of Erie; her son, John Fetrow (Susan) of Glen Rock, PA; three grandchildren, Melissa, Terry, and Tanya; four great grandchildren, and four great great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her sisters Millard Conley, Lola Spangler Smith and June King and son-in-law, Thomas H. Burke.
Friends are invited to call at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA. on Saturday May 27 from 10am until the time of the service at 11:00. Her burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery. Officiating at her service will be Reverend Kevin Shively from St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York.
