Thomas H. Prowell

YORK – Thomas H. Prowell, 57, of York, passed away, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at his home after a yearlong battle with Leukemia.  He was the husband of Pamela L. (Starz) Prowell. They would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2023.

Thomas was born September 19, 1965, in York and is the son of Harold L. and Patricia A. (Barton) Prowell of Mount Wolf.

He graduated in 1983 from Northeastern High School in Manchester and later attended York College in York.  He was a heavy equipment operator for Waste Management in Camp Hill.  He previously was employed by Northeastern Sewer Authority and Barton’s Bakery in Mount Wolf.  He was a member of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf, Pleasureville American Legion, Post 799 and the Victory Athletic Association in York and Otterbein Church in Mount Wolf.

In addition to his wife and parents, Thomas is survived by his son, Samuel T. Prowell of Red Lion, PA; his daughter, Emily L. Prowell of York, and his sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Beakler of Mount Wolf.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Patti Billet.

His Celebration of Life service will begin at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Otterbein Church, 1 North Center Street, Mount Wolf.  Officiating at the service will be Pastor Mark Zortman.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
