MOUNT WOLF – V. Isabel (Kohr) Murphy, “Izzy” 91, of Mount Wolf, passed into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at her home in Mount Wolf.  She was the wife of Charles Murphy, Jr. who she married 73 years ago on August 29, 1948.  She was affectionately known as, Izzy, IP, Grandma, Grandma Izzy, and Mammaw.

Izzy was born May 28, 1930, in East Manchester Township and was the daughter of the late Christopher C. and Violet (Knaub) Kohr.

She graduated in 1948 from Manchester High School.  She previously was a beautician, worked for the Record Club of America, Chiropractor Dr. Jacobs and was a personal assistant to Petey Fleischut in Delaware.  She was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Saginaw.   Izzy enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, vacations at Myrtle Beach with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Izzy is survived by her daughters, Karen Binkley and husband, Ben of Manchester, Lou Ann Keim and husband, Chris of Columbia, Lynn Edris and husband, Scott of Spring Grove, Kathy Aldinger and husband, Russ of York; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Madelyn Pfalzgraf of York and brother, Ray Kohr of Dover. She was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Gladfelter, Ruth Elvey, Gertrude Anderson and brother, Edwin Kohr.

Izzy’s celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will Private.  Officiating at the service will be her pastor Reverend Chuck Sprenkle
