MOUNT WOLF – Velma E. (Bixler) Kohr, 93, of Mount Wolf, passed away at 6:15 AM, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Hanover Hall in Hanover.  She was the wife of the late Lewis Kohr who passed away on March 19, 2003.

Mrs. Kohr was born June 3, 1927 in Mount Wolf and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Sadie (Sipe) Bixler.

She was employed as a seamstress for over 50 years having worked for Hon’s Sewing and other area sewing factories.  After retiring from the sewing factory she did alterations from her home.  She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, working on crafts, puzzles and reading a good book.  She was a member of the Farm Women Group #7 and attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in York Haven.

Mrs. Kohr is survived by her sons, Daniel Kohr and his wife Sandra of Mount Wolf and David Kohr of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Stacey Kohr wife of Michelle, Wendy Poff, Danielle Kohr, Carina Passalacqua, Tara Wagner and husband Jeff; 8 great grandchildren, Shelby Richcreek, Hailey Poff, Brayden Poff, Ashlie Kohr, Owen Kohr, Allana Ruffins, Aidan Wagner, Blake Wagner;  one great great grandson, Weston Poff and her sister Joanne Zerbe from New Cumberland, PA.

Her funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hoover’s Cemetery, Starview.  Officiating at her service will be Reverend Philip K. Nace.
