Wilbur “Will” M. Plowman
YORK – Wilbur “Will” Milton Plowman, 92, of York, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, at his home. He was the husband of Thelma V. (Melhorn) Plowman who he married 70 years ago on November 3, 1951.
Will was born March 20, 1929, in Dover and was the son of the late Edgar and Ethel (Andrews) Plowman.
He was employed for 20 years by the former Fox Baking Company in York and later worked for Caterpillar in York for 18 years before retiring in 1991.
Will proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Thelma, Will is survived by his sons, Barry Plowman and his partner, Dave of York, Wayne Plowman and his wife Brenda of York; his daughters, Felicia Martin and her husband Steve of the Villages, FL., and Shirley Alexander and her husband Tony of Greenfield Twp., PA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his brother, Edgar Plowman of East Prospect, PA., and his sisters, Linda Caplinger of Dover and Lonna Laugenslager of York. Will was preceded in death by his brothers, Garth Plowman, David Plowman and Albert Plowman and his sister, Jennifer Trower.
A graveside service for Will will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Quickel Cemetery in Zion View, York. Officiating at his service will be Reverend Laura Bair from Starview United Church of Christ, Mount Wolf. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
