William J. Kleman
YORK – William J. Kleman, 91, of York, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Gettysburg Gardens in Gettysburg. He was the husband of Jeannette M. (Williams) Kleman who he married 22 years ago on December 1, 2000.
Mr. Kleman was born January 15, 1932, in New Hanover, PA and was the son of the late Michael and Susanna (Donau) Kleman.
He graduated in 1949 from Boyertown High School and later from Ursinus College. He was employed for over 20 years with the former Bell Telephone Company and later AT&T from where he retired. He also was a self-employed carpenter for over 30 years. He was a member of Genesis Church, York, PA. Mr. Kleman proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, Jeannette, William is survived by his son, Michael Kleman and his wife Charlene, his step-son, Andrew Wirt and his wife, Tricia his daughters, Kathy Farabella, Sherry Ruchinski and her husband Mike, and Susan Balga and her husband Sam, his step-daughters, Amy Dutton and her husband Dennis and Katie Bright and her husband Jacob; 8 grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Mr. Kleman was preceded in death by his infant son, Gary; three brothers and three sisters.
His funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King Street, Pottstown, PA. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Pottstown, PA. Officiating at the service will be his stepson, Reverend Andrew L. Wirt. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
