William J. Klinedinst

YORK – William “Whitey,” “Bill” J. Klinedinst, 87, of York, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at his home in York. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Kauffman) Klinedinst who he married 66 years ago on October 8, 1955.

William was born April 7, 1935, in York and was the son of the late Clarence and Lovina (Spangler) Klinedinst. He spent most of his childhood residing in Lancaster, PA.

He graduated in 1953 from William Penn High School in York. He was employed for 33 years with Halls Trucking in York and for 10 years with Preston Trucking. He was a member of Hawks Gunning Club, Hayshire United Church of Christ in York, and a life member of Alert Fire Company in Emigsville.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by his son, Joel W. Klinedinst and his wife Cheryl of (Saginaw) Mount Wolf; his daughters, Wendy Parson and her husband Stanley of York, Julie Klinedinst of York, and Michelle Klinedinst of York; three grandchildren, Drew Klinedinst and wife Alicia of York, Kyler Parson of York and Leah Parson of York and four great grandchildren, Ryan and Milo Klinedinst of York, Desmond and Georgia Tillia of Mantua, NJ. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, James, Jacques and Clarence and his sisters, Patricia Miller, Suzanne Williams, and Mildred Warner and his beloved dog Casper.

A celebration of life service will begin at 12:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Hayshire United Church of Christ, 100 Haybrook Drive, York, Pennsylvania. Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service also at the church. Burial will be private. Officiating at the service will be his pastor, Reverend Brenda M. Enders. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
