William L. Zeigler
YORK – William L. Zeigler, 85, of York, passed away, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jolene L. (Buchar) Zeigler whom he married 62 years ago on April 12, 1958.
William was born October 14, 1935 in York and was the son of the late William and Anna (Zeigler) Zeigler.
He attended West York Schools. He was employed by Georgia Pacific in Mount Wolf for over 29 years before retiring in 1989. Previously he was a self-employed painter and worked part-time at Weis Markets. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He was a member of York First Church of the Brethren in York and where he served as an usher.
William is survived by his brothers, George Zeigler and John Zeigler and his sisters, Mary Jane Lightcap and Florence Hickman all of York. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lynn Zeigler; his daughter, Jennifer Lynne Zeigler and his infant daughter, Betsy Jo Zeigler; his half sister, Marguerite Senft and half-brother, Frank Desenberg.
His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Strinestown Cemetery in Strinestown. Officiating at the service will be his pastor Reverend Joel Gibbel.
