Zigmund Joseph Szabo
YORK – Zigmund Joseph Szabo, 88 of York, PA, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home in York. He was the husband of the late Priscilla S. (Ness) Szabo who passed away September 19, 2025.
Zigmund was born on September 23, 1937, in Dickson City, PA and was the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Oldakowski) Szabo.
He graduated from Johnson Trade School in Scranton, PA. Zigmund proudly served his country in the United States Navy Seabees and later attended York College of PA in York. He was employed by Precision Components in York and later from Thornton Chevrolet in Manchester, PA. He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post # 791, Goldsboro Fire Company Social Club, Knights of Columbus Council Lodge #10474 and Holy Infant Catholic Church in Manchester, PA.
Zigmund is survived by his children, Mark Szabo of Charlotte, NC, Tracey Sauder and her husband Ralph of York, Gary Szabo and Roxanne Grim; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Szabo and his sister Jeanette Goyne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 30, 2026, at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 535 Conewago Creek Road, Manchester, PA. His viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Friday at the church. His burial will be in Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery in Annville, PA. Officiating at his service will be Father Olusola Adewole, OP. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
