It is no surprise that the passing of a family pet can cause a lot of grief. At the Diehl Funeral Home we recognize the importance of adequately coping with the loss of a pet. Pet owners have the option of either a burial service or cremation for their pet. While we do not carry out pet funerals and cremations at the funeral home, we help you facilitate carrying out such an event elsewhere, such as a pet cemetery or the owner’s backyard. We can help owners decide on the appropriate casket and direct them to a pet cemetery and provide them with a clergy who will conduct the service for you at the cemetery.
If cremation is preferred the funeral home offers a wide variety of urns, commemorative jewelry, and more. Pet owners can even provide us with photographs of their beloved pet and we can create a DVD celebrating the animal’s life.
The Diehl Funeral Home also has literature to help both adults and children handle the loss of a pet. We are willing to do whatever is necessary to accommodate the needs and wishes of pet owners, from being there emotionally to offering products like commemorative stepping-stones and keepsake key chains.
In our private Pet Selection Room, you will find many selections of various different types of merchandise or memorabilia that will help you remember and memorialize your pet. You will find pet sympathy cards that can be purchased for family, friends, or even co-workers. Pet urns, caskets, custom picture frames, jewelry and keepsake urns are among some of the special tributes to hold the memory alive of your special friend. We are honored to be perhaps the only funeral home in our area to have such a complete selection of merchandise for our four legged friends. Some of you may wonder how we could possibly be sympathetic to the loss of a pet. It’s simple. Among our staff here at the Diehl Funeral Home we have three Golden Retrievers, two Cockapoos, one Labradoodle, six kitty cats, two birds, and several fish. With the compassion that we have for our own pets we know the compassion that you need and expect for your pet. Service Dogs have served their owners and our community well; therefore we find it befitting to offer our cremation services at no charge to their owners. We value the relationship that you have with your special friend therefore you will receive the respect that you and your pet deserve.
