MANCHESTER – Frederick A. “Fred” Harrold, 79, of Manchester, passed away at 8:32 AM, Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at his home. He was the husband of Beverly (Fadely) Harrold to whom he was married for 53 years.
Fred was born January 20, 1939, in York and was the son of the late Chauncey and Fannie (Kessler) Harrold.
He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1956, and later from Shippensburg University with a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree. He was employed by the Wolf Organization for over 38 years before retiring. Fred adored his grandchildren and great granddaughter and always looked forward to spending precious time with them. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed supporting the grandchildren at their sports events . In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and spending time at their vacation home in Avalon, New Jersey. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, Fred is survived by his son, Mark Harrold and his wife Kelly of York; his daughter Christine Clemens and her husband Matthew of York; 6 grandchildren, Austin Clemens, Chelsea (Clemens) Cummings, Hayley (Harrold) Williamson, Royce Clemens, Paige Harrold and Grace Harrold; his great granddaughter, Harper Clemens; and his sister, Charlene Rohrbaugh of Willow Grove, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Harrold and his sister, Marlene Kay.
A celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 5, 2018, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Officiating at the service will be Reverend Chuck Sprenkle.
