MANCHESTER- George Frysinger, 89, of Manchester, passed away at 5:12 PM, Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Providence Place in Dover. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Britcher) Frysinger who passed away on May 17, 2015.
George was born May 31, 1929, in Mount Wolf and was the son of the late George W. and Lizzie (Sweitzer) Frysinger.
In 1948 he graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester. He was an electrician and worked in the Local IBEW #229 and also worked for Miller Electric in Mount Wolf, B.R. Electrical Company, Peach Botton Power Plant during their initial construction and he also was self employed. He served as an officer in the Local IBEW #229 and was a member of the Zionsview Band; Zionsview Lions Club; and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester where he served as a trustee, and sang on the Senior Choir and the Men’s Chorus. George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
George is survived by his son, Ernest Frysinger and his wife Cathy of York; his daughter, Joyce Page and her husband Robert of Manchester; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery in Manchester.
