George "Geordie" P. Fishel, III

LEBANON – George “Geordie” P. Fishel, III, 67, of Lebanon, passed away at 8:10 PM, January 3, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon.

George was born March 11, 1950 in York and was the son of the late George P. Fishel, Jr. and Mildred M. (Biesecker) Fishel.

In 1968 he graduated from Central High School in York and in 1972 from York College of Pennsylvania. He retired in 2015 after 36 years with New Penn Motor Express as a Traffic Pricing Analyst. He was a member of the Breakfast Club at Quentin Haus Restaurant in Lebanon. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing in Ocean City, MD, smoking his pipe, and above all he was loved by his family and friends. He attended Zion of Iona United Methodist Church in Lebanon.

George is survived by his brother, Matt Fishel and his wife Mary Lou of York; niece, Andrea Kim and her husband Paul; great niece, Joelle Kim, great nephews, Emmanuel Kim and Bennett Kim

His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 North Beaver Street, York, PA. Viewings will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. Officiating at the service will be Reverend Robert Vizthum.

  2. So sorry for your loss. George was a great co-worker and everyone @ NPME liked him. He was a true Phillies fan and I enjoyed my many conversations with him about the team. May he rest in peace & may you find comfort in your memories of him.
