Jeffery D. Linsey

WELLSVILLE – Jeffery D. Linsey was born in York on June 14, 1944 and entered into rest November 9, 2017. He was the son of the late Milton C. Linsey and Mildred (Myers) Linsey. Jeff leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jacqueline (Doll) Linsey; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Julie Linsey and Joshua and Suellen Linsey; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Jennifer, Allison, and Samuel Linsey; his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Vivian Linsey, and his sister, Susan Allan.

Jeff graduated from West York High School in 1962 and was employed by Strine Printing Company for 47 years. He was a quiet man who loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding bikes, and kayaking with family and friends. He treasured family vacations at Ocean City, Maryland and time spent in the Florida Keys and on Marco Island. Watching his granddaughters grow up and teaching his grandsons to play golf were two of his greatest joys.

A service of thanksgiving and remembrance for Jeff’s life that he shared so generously with his family and friends and for his example of courage as he faced pancreatic cancer will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Memorial gifts may be made online or mailed to Four Diamonds, a fund at the Childrens’ Hospital in Hershey that provides support for childhood cancer patients.

  1. Linsey’s, we are so sorry for your loss.
Jason’ dad was a father away from home for many of us as we attended West Point with Jason. He was our rock!
We will miss him. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers!

  2. You are and will continue to be the best of my career and a fabulous golfing buddy. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. Thanks for the memories Jeff.

  3. Hello, Jackie and Jason and Josh,

Pat and I were so sad to read about Jeff’s death. We thought Jeff to be one of the special people who come into your life. I called him the “Marlboro Man” for his good looks and smile and hard work. Pat enjoyed his time working together for so many years and we are so happy that we got to see you, Jackie, and Jeff, for lunch at the beach. Danny will keep Jeff’s hard work going and our other son, Patrick, enjoyed fishing with them.

We are devastated that we will be away for our anniversary on Sat but your family and Jeff will be in our thoughts and prayers on Sat. We love this pic of Jeff as that’s how he will be remembered here. Pat has so many memories of him at Strine and some fishing ones, too, that he will treasure. May Jeff rest in God’s loving arms and may your family find some peace in that.

    With love and prayers,
    Pat and Karen Strine
