YORK – Lois M. (Miller) (Boeckel) Trayer, 92, of York, formerly of Mount Wolf, passed away at 8:55 AM, Sunday, October 28, 2018, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Russel L. Boeckel and George W. Trayer, Jr.

Mrs. Trayer was born May 22, 1926, in York and was the daughter of the late J. Earle and Wilma (Mundis) Miller.

She graduated in 1941 from Red Lion High School in Red Lion. She was employed by the former Borg Warner from 1943 to 1954 and Miller Electric in Mount Wolf from 1966 to 1981. She was a member of the Mount Wolf Community Church in Mount Wolf since 2007. Lois was instrumental in starting the Christian Bereavement Ministry at Mount Wolf Community Church. Mrs. Trayer and her late husband Russel Boeckel were the co-founders of the Compassionate Friends of York.

Mrs. Trayer is survived by her daughter Vaneesa Corish and her husband Thomas of Dover; 1 grandson, Lucas Corish and his wife Mary Steel of York; one great granddaughter, Evelyn Corish of York, and her sister, Joan Strine of York. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Boeckel, her sister Ruth Ness and her brothers, Merl, Ross, Dean and Gary.

Her memorial service will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be her Pastor John Whorl and her former Pastor Dan Dellosso.
